Frequently asked questions:

Q: How scary is 13 Stories Haunted House?
A: Extremely. Our scares are designed to be very intense from start to finish.

Q: How many go through at a time?
A: Our elevators only hold up to 6 people at a time.

Q: Will I be separated from my group?
A: No.

Q: How do I purchase tickets?
A: You can purchase tickets online by clicking here, or you can purchase tickets at the door. Our box office accepts cash, Visa, and Mastercard.  There may be a small fee for using "plastic".

Q: What rules must I follow while visiting 13 Stories?
A: We have a few basic rules which must be followed at all times:
*Do not touch any haunt actors or staff at any time
*Do not bring any weapons, alcoholic beverages, or pets onto the property
*Respect other customers and haunt employees; no rude or lewd behavior, defacing property, etc.
*No smoking inside the attractions, or within 15 feet of any structure (per Cobb County Fire Code)
*No flashlights, cell phones or cell phone lights, lighters, or flash photography inside the attractions

Q: What if we walk up on another group in the haunted house?
A: Either your group walks too fast or the other group walks too slow.  You will not get the full effect of the attraction if you get too close to the group ahead of you.   It is easier to see ahead of you so we ask all groups to slow down if you see that you are getting close to the group ahead of you.  This way each scene will have a chance to "reload".

Q: Is 13 Stories Haunted House wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I wear costumes or masks to 13 Stories Haunted House?
A:
Costumes are okay, but masks are not allowed for the safety of our employees and guests.  This rule does not apply on the weekend before and the night of Halloween each year.

Q: How much is admission?
A: We have two attractions at 13 Stories Haunted House. 13 Stories and the all new "BTS", Big Top Secret in 3D.  The price for admission is $22 for each human body to go through both haunted attractions. Coupons are available online and at various local retailers.  We do not offer single attraction tickets.  You must go through both shows for one admission price.  But we know that the economy has not been "wallet friendly" lately so we have added several "coupon dates" to our schedule this season.  You can experience 13 Stories and Big Top Secret for as little as $13 each on select nights and only $10 on our last two nights of the season November 4th and 5th, 2011! See our COUPON PAGE for all of the awesome specials!

Q: Do I HAVE to print out my coupon to bring with me?  New for this year:  You MUST have a coupon for each person in your group OR you can show the coupon on a smart phone.  One coupon per person and one smart phone show per person.

Q: Is there a different admission price for children?
A: No.

Q: How old do you have to be to get in to 13 Stories Haunted House?
A: That is up to you.  Many young children have a great time, others will not make it all the way through. Even some adults get too scared to make it through.  We incorporate loud music, strobe lights, fog machines and gory creatures to make up our shows.  Please be aware that there are NO REFUNDS if you or a member of your party are too scared to make it through.  EVEN IF you have not started the show.  Once the ticket is purchased there are no refunds.

Q: Do you offer group discounts?
A: Yes.  You MUST go to our online ticket box office and reserve your group discount at least 6 hours before attending.  There are absolutely no group rates offered on site.  This is to avoid the practice of gathering people in the parking lot to get the group rates.  This discount cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.  This means that you cannot use group rates with coupons.

Q: How can I join the crew of 13 Stories Haunted House?
A: See the JOBS link to submit a pre-application. Then you will need to join our Cast and Crew Facebook Group for updates.

Q: How old do I have to be to work for 13 Stories Haunted House?
A: You must be 16 or over. If you are under 18 you will need to have your parent's permission. You must also be able to get any required worker's permits from your school before we open if you are 16 or 17 years old.

Q: Will 13 Stories close if it rains?
A: 13 Stories Haunted House is indoors this year and will open rain or shine. The Big Top Secret attraction is outdoors and may close in severe weather but almost never does. We will do our best to post an update on the home page of this website in the event of a closure or on our Facebook page. Be sure to refresh your page for the most current information. In the event of closure due to inclement weather, presale tickets can be redeemed on another night.

Q: Are there live rats (snakes, spiders, cockroaches, clowns, chain saws, etc.)?
A: Maybe.  We have "Chicken Doors" throughout for you "poultry" types.  No animals will ever be close enough to bite you.

Q: Will they throw me out the window?
A: No.

Q: Will I be asked to sign a waiver?
A: Yes.  You do not HAVE to though.

Q: Will we get our money back if we make it all the way through?
A: No. The haunted house that gives you your money back if you make it to the end does not exist. It is a myth/urban legend.  Click here <http://www.snopes.com/horrors/mayhem/haunted.asp> for more information.

Q: If they scare me, can I punch them?
A: If you assault any of our staff, the Cobb County Police officers will take you directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.  Many of the employees of 13 Stories Haunted House are also off duty officers.  For the safety of our guests and staff, we use security cameras throughout the event.

Q: Will I be injured, dismembered, or killed at your event?
A: We go to great lengths to provide a safe experience for our guests. If you follow our rules, do not run, and do not touch the employees or scenery, you will make it through safely. In addition to our security staff, we also have radio contact throughout for quick calls to 911.

Q: Can I take pictures or video?
A:
No, sorry.  Press members must obtain permission at least 24 hours in advance for any filming.

Q: Will they touch me?
A: Our actors will not touch you.

Q: Are there restrictions for people who are pregnant or have health problems?
A: Please consult your doctor to find out if an intense experience including loud noises, fog machines, and strobe lights is appropriate for your condition.

Q: Do you have group rates?  Yes.  You must fill out our Group Rates Form at least 6 hours before you attend.

Q: How long is the wait in line?
A: Wait times will vary depending on the day of your visit. The weekend prior to Halloween and Halloween night will have the longest wait times.  Taking advantage of the great savings on weekday nights usually allows for the shortest lines.  Coming on a Friday or Saturday is only advisable if you do not mind some lines or you come early in the season.

Q: Can tickets be resold? Can I use a ticket that I purchased elsewhere?
A:
Tickets are void if resold. Tickets purchased anywhere other than on this website or at the 13 Stories box office will not be honored. Tickets purchased at our box office must be used on the date of purchase. We will aggressively prosecute any individual selling counterfeit tickets.

Q: I lost my cell phone/jewelry/shoes, etc. in your attraction. Can you help me find it?
A:
Please make sure any items you bring are securely in your pockets at all times... or better yet, leave them in the car. We are often asked to find lost items. We may or may not be able to check for lost items right away, and because of the size and complexity of the attractions, items might not be found until the lights are turned back on at the end of the night. If you might have dropped an item inside one of our attractions, please email us with the details at 13storieshauntedhouse@gmail.com and we will let you know if the item has been found. More often than not, dropped cell phones and other items are trampled in the dark environment by other customers.
We are not responsible for any personal items brought inside our attractions.

Q: What happens if I break the rules?
A:
All rules are strictly enforced for the safety of our guests. Anyone violating the rules may be asked to leave the property with or without warning, and without refund.

Q: Can I copy and paste this FAQ on my own website?
We are honored that Google has us at the top when you search "haunted house FAQ." If you wish to copy and paste this to your site, please email and ask first. And, for the record: "Copyright © 2004-2010 13 Stories Haunted House. All rights reserved. No part of this site may be reproduced without permission."

Q: Should I talk "big" in front of my friends or family about hitting someone or doing anything you should not do in our shows?  Any conversations heard by our plain clothed security or crew will get you your own special "shadow" throughout our haunts.  This is a crew member or officer following behind you all the way through the attractions to make sure you do not follow through with your threats.  Most all of the people that cause problems at fun events such as ours had drawn attention to themselves by either other customers or crew members before ever even walking into the shows.

Online Tickets/Other Information:

   - There is a $3 online service fee per online ticket. All prices are per human body, whether it is an adult or a child. Tax is already included in all prices.
   - Purchasing your tickets online allows you to skip the regular ticket line and get your tickets at the ONLINE TICKET/VIP WINDOW where there is always little to no line. Purchasing VIP tickets allows you to skip the regular ticket line AND the queue lines to the attractions.  You go straight in (unless there are a few VIP's in front of you of course.  This can save you tremendous amounts of time during peak times. We discourage people from buying VIP passes early in the season or during non peak times (Sunday through Thursdays).
   - If available, coupons MUST be redeemed with a promotional code when you check out. We CANNOT redeem online ticket coupons at 13 Stories Haunted House. You must come on a date the coupon is valid (if coupon is used) or you will not be admitted or will have to pay the difference.

No refunds on any tickets, ever.
